I need to service my DSLR (digital SLR camera) can you do this and how much does it cost?
Yes, we do service all DSLR cameras. The standard fee for cleaning the sensor and checking your camera body + 1 lens, is R695. If you have additional lenses that need to be cleaned we charge R100 per lens. Should the technician find any areas of concern, you will be notified and quoted accordingly. We offer this as a same day service if booked in timeously.
Do you repair all makes of camera and equipment?
Yes we do! Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus and more!
Do you repair digital cameras and equipment?
Yes we do! We have a Canon specialist, Nikon specialist and analogue specialist (next question).
Do you repair analogue cameras and equipment?
Yes we do! All types from the normal SLR camera to Medium format to Large format!
Do I need to make an appointment to book my equipment in?
No you don’t, please refer to the footer of the page for opening and closing times. We charge R150 booking in fee for the technician to look at your equipment and quote. Should you go ahead with the repair, the R150 is deducted off the job cost. Should you not repair your item or the item cannot be repaired, the R150 is non-refundable, however we will offer you R150 off any replacement equipment you choose to purchase from us.
Where is your workshop/how do I get there?
We are conveniently located in the City Bowl off popular Kloof street at 1 Park Road, Gardens.
If you are coming from the N1 / Northern Suburbs, continue along Buitengracht street towards Table Mountain. Look out for the Caltex garage on your left, shortly after this, go straight through the traffic lights at Buitensingle street. At the next road, turn left into Park road. Follow the road towards Kloof street, on your Right Hand side just before the shopping centre you will see a semi-detached Victorian House. This is our premises, we have 3 x customer parking bays in front of the building.
If you are coming from the N2 / Southern Suburbs, Exit De Waal Drive on the Jutland (Cape Town Exit / M62 Camps Bay exit) and follow Mill street / Annendale street / Orange streets, passing the Mount Nelson Hotel on your left. Continue to the traffic lights, turn left into Rheede street. At the stop street turn left into Kloof street. On your right you will see a shopping centre with Kauai / Woolworths / Wellness Warehouse, at the shopping centre turn right into Park road. We are next to the shopping centre in a semi-detached Victorian house. We have 3 x customer parking bays in front of the building.
Do you do repairs in-house?
Yes, the majority of our repairs are done in our workshop in Gardens. We have 3 technicians with a combined 65 years of experience! Where needed we will send work away on your behalf.
Do you sell cameras, lenses and equipment?
Yes we do! We are very competitively priced, and are a preferred supplier to many professional photographers. Currently we do the 5th highest turnover in the Canon sales market in Cape Town and sell many other brands too.
Do you do insurance quotes?
Yes we do! We deal with many insurance companies and have a great relationship with Outsurance. In 2013 and 2014, we won highest customer satisfaction rating in SA from all the Outsurance suppliers. You can book your camera in.
